Q2 KTVQ | Billings, Montana - News, Weather, Sports | Golf Tournament helps Blue Star Mothers, veterans

HUNTLEY, Mont. - A group of mothers with children serving in the military came together today for a good cause.
The Big Sky Chapter of Blue Star Mothers of America raised money to help veterans and current service members during a golf tournament.
The Yellowstone Roadway Transportation at the Pryor Creek Golf Course.
The Big Sky Chapter of the Blue Star Mothers was founded about year ago to give mothers a chance to support veterans, their military children and each other.
"It's kind of a place for us to connect," said Kari Longshore, 2nd vice-president of the Big Sky Blue Star Mothers of America."A place to kind of cry and laugh and share, and pray for one another's kids and love one another's kids. It's really hard for the Moms when the kids first get deployed. And we also welcome military wives and kind of help them through their deployments as well."
The tournament drew 73 players and raised about five-thousand dollars.
Half the money will be used to help wounded veterans.
