Concord Memorial to Honor Military Personnel Killed in Iraq & Afghanistan

A dedication ceremony for the new Gold Star Memorial will take place on November 10th at 2pm at the Concord Senior Center, 2727 Parkside Circle.
The following is from the City of Concord:
The Gold Star Memorial commemorates the 13 local military service personnel who gave their lives for their country in recent conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan, and is sponsored by the Contra Costa Blue Star Moms, California Chapter 20.
The memorial was designed and built by Eagle Scout Julian Houghtby as a community service project and consists of a series of mosaic tiles installed at the base of the flag pole in front of the Concord Senior Center. Each tile features a gold star. A marble plaque lists the names of the fallen servicemen.
