"PERRY TWP. — The local chapter of the Blue Star Mothers of America will present an official Blue Star cloth service banner this afternoon to Marlene Gano, an elderly woman who defied her condo association’s orders to take down her Blue Star Flag.
Gano keeps the flag on her window to honor her son’s Army service in wartime.
The condo association on Channonbrook Street SW reversed course Monday, and its management company, REM Commercial Association Management, said she could dispaly the flag after the company was slammed by a flurry of e-mails and calls blasting the association’s initial stance that the flag violated its rule on window displays."
