South Bay Blue Star Moms gain back lost funds — and then some

Thanks to media coverage — and a season in which people are looking to share — a nonprofit that sends care packages and services to active duty overseas service members and homeless veterans has more than been recompensed for the funds they lost in a credit card scam.
The South Bay Blue Star Moms lost $3,000 several weeks ago when the group’s account was hacked through a scam that “skimmed” financial information from cards used at self-checkouts at 24 different Bay Area Lucky supermarkets.
