River City Blue Star Moms

River City Blue Star Moms are moms, friends, families,of veteran and miltiary children. Our families and neighbors work together to raise funds for our carepackages overseas, to assist our military and veteran families in need. Attend our fallen hero's funerals, work at Standown's, attend events to educate about Blue Star Moms, attend parades. If you sew, knit, crochet we are always in need of lap quilts, afghans, baby hats, baby blankets, and we have something for everyone who wants to volunteer. Our meetings are on the 3rd Thursday of every month at St. Luke's Church at 9575 Center Parkway, Sacramento, Ca. 95823 at 6:30 pm. We hope you see you there! We believe in our troops and veterans. Thank you, River City Blue Star Moms rivercitybsm@hotmail.com

Roseville kids, seniors hold patriotic painting party

Maddie Wildie pointed out her hand-painted cards among the dozens laying on a table at Alta Manor Assisted Living and Memory Care Community in Roseville.
"We're making cards for the troops in Afghanistan that say thank you for protecting our country," Maddie said.
The 9-year-old, her younger sister Allie and about 20 other kids from St. Clare Catholic Church joined residents of the senior facility on July 12 to make cards for Sacramento Blue Star Moms to add to a growing care package, which will be mailed to troops later this month. Blue Star Moms is a service organization that supports U.S. troops.
