Presentation on PTSD set at Albany church

“The War After the War — Understanding PTSD” will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 19, at St. Alban’s Episcopal Church, 1730 Hill St. S.E., in Albany.
The keynote speaker will be Belle Landau, executive director of the Returning Veterans Project.
The class is free and no tickets are necessary. The event is sponsored by the Blue Star Mothers of the Willamette Valley.

AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary to honor state president



The members of AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary to Post 726 will be honoring New York State Auxiliary President Rosalee Waid.
Waid is a resident of Chautauqua County, and has been very active in Community and State Programs. She served as governor of the Alleghany Region Sertoma Club for two terms, she is president of the Jamestown Real Estate Investment Association, and treasurer and founder of the Chautauqua Children's Safety Education Village as well as past board member of "Share a Dream" for special needs children. Waid is also a member of the Blue Star Mothers.

Troops thank Blue Star Mothers

Of the 263 holiday care packages put together by the Blue Star Mothers in December, more than 250 went to soldiers serving in Afghanistan. Some of that total went to soldiers in COP Honaker Miracle in memory of Sgt. Kevin White, who was killed there last year.
