"CORPUS CHRISTI — Pvt. 2 Carrie Romans picked up her 5-year-old daughter, Deven, Monday and closed her eyes.
In front of them was a charter bus waiting to take Romans and 34 other reservists in the 453rd Cargo Transfer Company from Naval Air Station Corpus Christi to Houston as part of the unit’s deployment to Afghanistan.
After Romans hugged Deven, she looked at her 3-year-old daughter, Hailey, who asked her if she could go on the bus, too.
“No, it’s mommy’s bus,” said Romans, 25, a supervisor at McAlister’s Deli."

the bus passed the crowd, which included members of Bahia Bay Residents/Troop
