"JENKS, OK -- The Blue Star Mothers received some much needed help on Friday for shipping its Freedom Boxes to troops. Jeff Reasor presented the Tulsa chapter with a $10,000 check at his Jenks store.
Blue Star Moms say the check is a God-send.
'We had a stack of boxes that have been sitting in our building for a couple of weeks. We haven't had the cash to be able to take them to the post office and mail. So, it's truly a blessing,' said Blue Star Mother Teresa Nightingale.
The money came from the Scoops for Troops drive held earlier this month.
Every year, the grocery store offers customers an ice cream scoop for a $1 with money going to the Blue Star Mothers."
