Blue Star Moms seeking cell phones for soldiers

Blue Star Moms seeking cell phones for soldiers: "Blue Star Moms seeking cell phones for soldiers

The Blue Star Mothers, Miami Valley Chapter #3, will be collecting old cell phones that will be exchanged for phone cards for our troops.
The collection drive will be held Saturday, March 22 from 12 to 4 p.m. at Liberty Tax Service at Cross Pointe Center in Centerville. If you cannot make the event on March 22, you can drop off your cell phones at the Troop Support Center which is located at the Town & Country Shopping Center in Kettering. They are located next to Sweetwater
Sweets Candy Store."
According to Chapter President Beverly Payton, the first phone card will go to a soldier in Iraq who is a new father so that he can call home. The next 67 cards will go to a sergeant major who will give them to the 67 soldiers under his command. Peyton said the sergeant major told her that their spirits are low right now and getting a phone card to call home would definitely put a smile on their face.
They don’t need the chargers, booklets, etc. They just need the phones, and Peyton said they don’t care how old or how ugly they are, they just need those phones to help brighten the spirits of soldiers overseas.
