Founded in 1942 and chartered by Congress in 1960, the group encourages families of service members to display the Blue Star Flag in their window as a sign of support and a symbol of hope. It also provides support for all service personnel, promotes patriotism, assists veterans' organizations and is available to assist in homeland volunteer efforts.
