Blue Star Mothers making Care Packages for Troops

"I am the vice president of the Foothills Chapter of the Blue Star Mothers and a mother of a soldier.
Our goal this Christmas is to send 300 care packages to soldiers serving in Afghanistan and Iraq. To do that, we need to raise $3,585 to ship them, plus collect the items to go in the care packages. We are hosting a fundraising scrapbook event with the help of www.scrapbookroyalty.com on Saturday, and we will be at Oktoberfest in downtown Hickory.
We will have yellow ribbons for a $10 donation. You will be able to write a word of support and encouragement to a soldier thousands of miles from home to go into the care packages. If you are a Mother of a soldier, we would love for you to join our group. If you have a business, we are a 501(C) (3) non-profit organization.
Contact me at 828-381-3606 or at pls0818@aol.com. I am begging for help, and I am not too proud to do it. Our troops need to know that they are not forgotten, that we support them even if we don't support the war, and that as a country we are honored that they are putting their lives on the line for us."
