Community and military connected when soldiers share their stories

"SHALIMAR — Sgt. Christopher Pierrot made a deal with the people who came to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church on Tuesday night to hear about his experiences in the Army.
“If you believe what I tell you, I’ll agree not to recruit you in the Army,” the recruiter said with a grin.
Armed with the audience’s agreement, Pierrot’s tales included a blue hand, thrown 4-by-4s and birthday celebrations involving duct tape.
During Operation Tribute to Freedom, organized by the Northwest Florida Blue Star Mothers, Pierrot and fellow soldier Staff Sgt. Hilda Wade explained why they bleed Army green."
